I care about the memories your children will carry

Working with children isn’t a side job for me; it’s central to who I am. I aim to bring real joy into their everyday lives. I carry a zoo full of animals and a theatre box full of characters, and I’d be getting on the floor to build worlds from cardboard and cushions, or even becoming an object of a playground. I create a space that is both playful and emotionally safe, where children can express themselves freely. We read, invent, dance, make, question, explore and, when needed, simply sit quietly and be. My experience includes long-term after-school roles, mentoring, toddlers navigating nursery transitions, and looking after siblings who threatened to “put me in jail” before eventually desiring my company lovingly. I value consistency, emotional safety, and joyful curiosity. Structure matters. So does laughter. The children I’ve looked after remain important to me, and many of those relationships continue across cities and countries.

    I have 3 small kids very close in age and I am working a lot. I went through lot of nannies! Maryam has put a stop to this. She has been our after school nanny for more than a year now and she clearly has been fantastic and this even during lock down where she agreed to still come and help us. She is not just looking after the kids. She takes the time to teach them how to do things - like drawing but also dress by themselves, setting the table... but all of this through being gentle and fun. She is very sweet and nice but she manages to be firm too when needed. More than anything she respects the kids and loves them. In return, they respect her and love her.

    I have been supper lucky to be with this family. I love the kids and my time with them with it's own challenges has been truly precious a full on experience.

  • March 2020 - April 2021

    Maxie has 2 lovely children (3 and 8) whom I adore. I've been looking after the occasionally. They are very sweet and well behaved. My time with them is such a delight and Zen like in its own terms. We play, draw, read, dance, eat and I actually do learn some new facts about wild life each time I'm with them.

    I did look After Lave's one year old son part time for 4 months and then full time for about 3 months.

  • May 2022 - August 2022

    I looked after Anna's one year old son for three month before he was put into nursery. Anna was great and it was such a joy to look after her son.

  • September 2022 - Today

    I'm working with Janice's son as an after school nanny. Janice is very kind and thoughtful and looking after G I everyday learn new things.
