I’ve spent the past 7 years sharing a room with my younger brother, who will be turning 10 in May. As the older sibling, both at home and during family gatherings, I’ve always taken pride in setting a good example for younger kids. While I don’t have formal babysitting experience, I’m very familiar with taking charge when my parents are out or in an emergency. I’ve been trusted to care for my brother during situations like when my sister had to visit the hospital, and my parents have relied on me frequently to handle things when they’re not around. I believe taking care of children is a great way to revisit your youth and play a positive role in theirs. I’m the type to join the kids in a bouncy castle or playfully encourage their activities (while ensuring safety). Having grown up with experiences of being yelled at or punished harshly, I understand the negative impact of aggressive discipline, and I avoid it entirely. With 2 years of experience in fast food, I’ve developed the ability to stay calm under pressure, which helps me in caregiving situations as well.
