Primary school tutor in Kingston upon Thames

My name is Laura, and I am 24 years old. I am a primary school tutor looking for students who need 1-1 support in any primary school subject. The support we get as children has a profound impact on the adults we are. Great importance should be placed on understanding each child's needs to help them develop to their full potential. I have experience in mainstream and special needs education. This has given me insight into the Early Years Framework and the national curriculum. Including SEND support, PECS, Macaton, etc. I have worked alongside a variety of practitioners; SALT, occupational therapists, teachers, and educational psychologists. I have safeguarding training and know the importance of keeping children safe and healthy. Recently I worked in ABA therapy, helping children with developmental challenges build life skills to guide them towards independence. My ethos is a consistently positive approach, always praising accomplishments. I set clear boundaries, but want children to know that it's okay to make mistakes. Each child is unique, and almost all behaviours have a function behind them and should be approached accordingly. I help children build confidence, feel understood and decrease any challenging behaviour.
