Fun and enthusiastic tutor studying in Glasgow!

My name is Poppy, I’m a 20 year old from London studying philosophy and theology at the University of Glasgow. I have worked as a private tutor for 2 years now, working with kids and teenagers aged 7-16. I spent 9 months as a teaching assistant at a local primary school where I spent a lot of time working one-on-one with students who would benefit from extra academic support. Discovery learning plays a central role in my teaching technique, I find that giving students the tools to solve a problem and allowing them to find the answer on their own accord as opposed to drilling information creates a sense of pride in themselves, thus creating further engagement, understanding and confidence in the subject at hand.
