After school nanny

Hello, My name is Jillian. I am a 22 year old American university student who took some time off this past year to travel to a new place and meet a nice new people! I stayed in Cheltenham for six months and feel in love with it! I loved it so much that I have applied to the University of Gloucestershire and I recently found out that I have been accepted! So I am excited to say that I will be returning to Cheltenham at the end of August! I have been taking care of kids for over ten years; I started out as a mother's helper, then occasional babysitter, then a more regular babysitter, then a part time nanny, a full time nanny, and now a full time aupair. As a result I have great references that I would be more then happy to give after speaking with you further! In terms of discipline I don't feel that hitting or yelling is a good way to discipline any child. I do however think it is important to set rules, make sure the child knows and understands the rules, and if the rules were to be broken then there should be a punishment involved, such as a time out or not being about to do something. But before the punishment is said I would let them know what the rule was that they broke and why it is bad they broke it. Now for the fun stuff, I am a person who likes to have fun. I think it is really important for kids to have fun, that is the whole point of being a kid. But it is even more fun for me when that fun involves learning, because then the child not only enjoys learning, but they learn something new and end up feeling great about themselves with their new accomplishment. But I would have to say the best part about childcare would have to be the love from the kids. I love taking care of kids who get to know me, trust me, and have fun with me, and so then ask their parents when I am coming back, or when I do come back to see them I get a big smile and hug from them. In my former full time nanny job, I took care of a 5 month old baby, and it just meant the world to me when I went to get her in the morning and she gave me a big smile because she recognizes me. It is a great feeling! Additionally, I have my drivers license and have been driving for years now, but unfortunately I do not have any practice driving on the 'wrong side'(left) of the road, and 'wrong side'(right) of the car! Hehe! But since I plan on spending the next few years in England, I am very eager to learn! I look forward to hearing from you!! Have a great day!! ~ ****
