Full time nanny

During the last few years I have become a part of the wonderfully rewarding field of work with children and young people. In 2011, following a number of years working as a community volunteer for various children's and youth projects, I began a BA in Children and Youth studies with practical theology at Midlands Centre for Youth Ministry. My roles as Children/Youth leader, and more recently, residential childcare worker have equipped me with a range of transferable strengths and skills which I believe will enable me to fulfil the advertised position.

My work with young people began as a community volunteer. During this time I sat on a school board of governors, held a position as treasurer for the school parent and friends association, assisted in delivering a programme of free accessible activities for children and young people during school holidays, and organised fundraising events for the local preschool and church. I then became part of a team of volunteers who launched a community youth group in partnership with a local church. The group quickly grew and soon became 3 groups offering a range of activities for 9-18 year olds. During this time I took up post of Children's and Youth leader, becoming responsible for coordinating and managing the team whilst overseeing each project that the church became involved in.

Once I began the course at MCYM, I became placement student and children's/youth worker at St. Peter's church Ruddington. My responsibilities included coordinating a team of volunteers, delivering and facilitating a programme of children's and youth events within the church, the wider community and local schools, one to one mentoring sessions and family support work, maintaining records such as risk assessments, budgets, attendance registers, making regular presen
