I am a fully qualified teacher who has just completed a maternity post in a primary school. I qualified two years ago and have taught from Year R all the way up to Y6. During my evenings when I was teaching I decided to tutor and ultimately this was something I found far more rewarding as my strengths as a child care professional are in pastoral care, understanding specific needs of individual children and creating the best possible relationships with a child to help them achieve the best that they can. Because of this I have decided that I would like to work one to one and with smaller groups of children.

Matt was the head teacher of the school that I have worked at for the past two years. Under him I took the role as a year 4/5 teacher, a year 2 teacher and after school club lead. I loved the opportunity to work with a variety of different age groups and needs, not only in the formal role as a class teacher, but also in less formal role as after school club lead.

Working for Charlotte and FootNet sports was one of the first opportunities I had to work with children. It was the first point that I really knew it was what I wanted to do as it combines two great loves of mine: physical activity and working with kids. I found sport bought out such a fun side of childcare and I would work with Charlotte over many school holidays throughout my teenage years.

I started volunteering for the Harrogate Baptist Chruch holiday club when I was 15. A family run holiday club, I found that working with this team was a very fun, secure way of working with children and being part of creating an enjoyable but educational environment for the children to be a part of.
I am an enthusiastic young teacher looking for a more personal child care experience. I love Science and English from an academic perspective but I have a great passion for music, singing and theatre. I love being outdoors and keeping busy. I have worked with children since I was fourteen and found a passion for it straight away. Since then I have worked in multiple after school and holiday clubs, done a degree and a Pgce and qualified as a primary school teacher. I also just completed an NQT year and on an evening I enjoy tutoring as a way to work one to one with children.
