Full time nanny

I have worked in Childcare for 7 years, and now a mother to Alfie who is now one.
I have a qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development NVQ2, where I gained an additional certificate of achievement for my consistent high standard and quality of work. To further my knowledge I took courses in my spare time in different areas of children's care and development, special needs and observational skills. I have also taken and completed a course in Makaton, which I use at my current setting with the babies mainly in songs at present. I have a current enhanced C.R.B certificate and Paediatric First Aid. I have written references of which you can check. I am aware of Health and Safety procedures and carry out risk assessments in my everyday work. I also have knowledge of safety in the home and outdoors.
My last position was working in a day care nursery, where I have worked mainly in the baby room for two and half years. I have also worked in the other aged group room three to five years. In my home life I care for my nephews when my sister needs me to.
In my last role I was key worker to several children. We develop over time a special relationship with these children and their families. We are also required to keep a development file on each child to monitor their progress and achievements while at nursery. This is both written and in photographs. We observe the children regularly and assess where they are developmentally and plan their next steps so they can practice their new skills and develop more new ones to reach their next milestone. I do this through the child's interests and make the activities enjoyable and stimulating. My time in the nursery I have worked with children with delayed development, English as an second language, challenging behaviour and autism.
I believe in the concept of 'Learning through Play', and all activities I plan and provide for children have learning outcomes for them, and develop the different areas of child development.
