Durham University student with childcare experience
I am currently entering my third year of studying Geography at Durham University, and I will be applying for a PGCE teaching degree in Primary Education (Early Years) for 2018. I am passionate about working with children, and I am reliable, honest and friendly. I have experience in working with children: I am a Group Co-ordinator at an Activity Camp in Essex, where I am responsible for large groups of around 20 children aged 4-11. I have volunteered in a local Durham school with reception-aged children for two years now, and before starting university I volunteered with children with Special Educational Needs for 4 years. I have seven nieces/nephews all under the age of 6 years, who I regularly babysit for and absolutely love spending time with. I am looking for part-time babysitting jobs that I can fit around my degree programme, to gain more experience working with children before I start teaching and earn a bit of extra money.

From 07-2016 To day
In Summer 2016 and Easter/Summer 2017, I worked as a Group Co-ordinator at a children's activity camp in Essex with large groups of children aged 4-15, predominantly with the under-11s. Within this role I was adaptable, also working as an Early Years Co-ordinator. I absolutely love caring for and being responsible for children, and their safety and happiness is my number one priority. I have shown reliability, friendliness and leadership in this role, and it has provided me with incredibly useful skills which I can take forward into future childcare jobs. I will be continuing to work at this activity camp in my holidays from university in the future. Mr. Fairless has worked as my manager since I started this job.
From 12-2014 To day
Ms. Boden is a family friend with two girls, aged 4 years and 8 months, for whom I have carried out babysitting several times on an informal basis. I have made treasure hunts in the garden, done arts and crafts and played lots of games. Being around Ms. Boden's youngest daughter has given me more experience of young babies. This is not an official employment but has given me lots of experience and was what set off my interest in working with children!
From 12-2013 To day
Ms. Rowley is a family friend with two children, a son aged 5 years and a daughter aged 3 years, for whom I have carried out babysitting several times on an informal basis. Spending lots of time with Ms. Rowley's children, doing things like arts and crafts, playing games and going swimming. This is not an official employment but has given me lots of experience and added to my interest in working with children!
I went to school in Essex, obtaining 10 A* and 1 A at GCSE and A*AA at A Level before starting studying at Durham. In my second year at Durham I got a First; I will be graduating in 2018 and hope to study for a PGCE in Primary Education following graduation. My Summer/Easter job is as a Group Co-ordinator at an Activity Camp in Essex, where I absolutely love looking after and running activities for kids, particularly those aged 4-8. I have a real passion for working with children; my absolute favourite thing to do in my spare time is to spend time with my nieces and nephews (who are 0-6 years of age). I am also interested in reading, horse-riding, events organisation and volunteering.
