I have always loved children. When I was younger I used to write on my Christmas list that I wanted a baby sister every year. Sadly I never got one. Growing up and now at the age of 21 I still love to be able to socialise and help young children. I feel that I am very approachable, friendly and easy to talk to. I was a team leader/ supervisor for 5 years voluntarily at Rainbows (which is a girls guiding group for ages 5-7 years). Here, I saw many grow and develop and gain their confidence before moving up to Brownies and getting the next lot of Rainbows in. For me this was a very rewarding experience. I also enjoyed it because I went to the same Rainbows and Brownies when I was younger. I would organise and play games, make and help out with crafts, do baking, organise days out such as trips to the zoo and the Christmas disco, also opening and closing the hall and ensuring that everything is clean, tidy and in a safe environment. This year after finishing university I decided I was going to be an elf at Santa's grotto. Why not when you love to dress up, love kids and Christmas?! Here I played games, sang and danced, took them to see Santa, took photographs and then made them into baubles and key rings. It was fully booked for a month and a half and by the end of it, it just confirmed that I want a job with children. I've been first of call for someone whose needed a babysitter within the village and out, and have been requested by the child themselves which makes me happy because then you know you're fun! I've also worked in a pre-school for 2 weeks as part of my work experience when I was back at school, and didn't want to leave. That was the year of the Tewkesbury floods, when I was stranded on a bus with 30 under fours and loved taking responsibility and keeping them entertained, despite the weather being so stressful. I feel with my experience I'm not afraid of a challenge, I love to have fun myself as well as the kids and that I can interact with all ages.
